Tyrone U17 Footballers achieve unique provincial double and All Ireland success
Tyrone GAA Academy's innovative approach to player development and performance learning is continuing to show early signs of success. The Academy's U17 footballers achieved a unique 'first' treble by winning the inaugural Ulster Championship title at this age category to follow up their earlier League success.
The Ulster Champions then progressed to the All Ireland Final where they overcame a very talented Roscommon team at Croke Park on a scoreline of 2-18 v 0-15. In a highly entertaining and skilful final Tyrone had nine different scorers including a personal haul of 1-03 from the inspirational Darragh Canavan (son of former Tyrone great Peter), to clinch the first ever All Ireland U17 Championship Title for the Red Hand county.
Congratulations to the players and special mention to the coaches, analysts and parents who have helped contribute to a player-centric approach and pathway for the future.
